The Wyche Church of England Primary School is a semi-rural school with 140 children on the role. Located on the edge of Malvern (a town with a population of approx. 40,000) and within an AONB the school is nestled between the Hills and the Common. We operate split year groups with five classes across seven year groups.
The school enjoys close links with the church which is adjacent to the school, and works closely with other local primary schools in Malvern. The school also enjoys close links with Gofu Juu, a school in Tanzania, who we have worked with and supported for many years
The school has performed consistently well in its SAT scores for both attainment and progress measures and regularly features at the top of the county league tables. In 2015 we received a letter from the Minister congratulating us for being one of only 187 schools in the country to achieve our level of attainment. He also wrote in 2016 congratulating us for being in the top 1% of schools in the country for its standards in writing.
The school operates its own curriculum known as ‘the Wyche Curriculum’ which advocates the delivery of teaching through project based learning. The school had been at the forefront of curriculum development for some time and regularly hosts other schools who are keen to experience our curriculum ‘in action.’ The teaching staff are a high performing and able team who provide a very firm base from which the teaching principles enshrined in the curriculum can flourish. They are very ably supported by our teaching assistants and support staff and form a close knit group who together provide a rich and cohesive experience for all our children.
The school has been rated as Ofsted ‘Good’ at its last inspections in 2020. In 2019 our SIAMs inspection rated the school as ‘Good.’
