Polam Hall School wishes to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced individual to the following post:

Maths Teaching Assistant

The successful candidate will be based in the Senior phase of the school however there may be an opportunity to work across the school with Junior and Secondary aged children.

The post requires the Teaching Assistant to work under the direction of the SEND Team and in line with the needs of the classroom teachers.

Must hold a high level of Maths at GCSE or equivalent, ideally qualified to A Level.

support the delivery of learning for each pupil to enable them to reach their potential, working with individual pupils or small groups or within a whole class setting to support the delivery of high standards of teaching and learning and pupil progress.

actively uphold the values and ethos of the school in all interactions with pupils, and to model the behaviours expected of pupils.

respond to the specific learning needs of the pupil(s).

be proactive in managing pupil behaviour and supervise pupils at lunch and break times as required.

A level 3 Teaching Assistant (or teaching and learning) qualification is essential.

We have 837 pupils on roll with 1.5 form entry in our Primary Phase whilst over the last two years our secondary phase has increased from three to four forms of entry.
