Paid weeks: 43.32 weeks per year. Working weeks: 38 weeks per academic year, excluding INSET Days

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and flexible Teaching Assistant to support teaching staff at Merriott First School. This post is a fixed-term contract. Our school is a friendly and inclusive rural school at the centre of the village community.
The successful candidate will support the class teacher by:
Teaching learning sequences to groups of pupils through a range of approaches.
Planning and delivering intervention programmes to develop cores skills of literacy and numeracy.
Supporting social and emotional needs of pupils within our school.

The successful candidate will:
Be enthusiastic, flexible and organised.
Have recent and relevant Teaching Assistant experience with primary aged children.
Have the knowledge and understanding to ensure children including disadvantaged and SEND pupils make good progress.
Be able to relate effectively with learners and adults.
A desirable factor would also be an individual who has delivered phonics through Read Write Inc. although this is not essential
