Working pattern

Part time (Can be done as a job share): 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Named child contract) Full-time 8.40-3.35pm. 32 hours per week. (30mins unpaid lunch) 29.5 hours Pay scale level 2 (point 5) £12.73 per hour. Contract includes 30-minutes per day midday supervisor contract (2.5 hours pay scale level 1C (Point 2) £11.59 per hour). Monday to Friday (Term time only, 38 weeks)

What skills and experience we're looking for

This post will initially be working with children with limited or no verbal communication as yet. We are looking for people who:

• want to make a difference to the lives of children

• are calm, caring and patient

• have high expectations of themselves and children • are able to demonstrate a good standard of education

• are able to communicate at all levels with children and staff

• are excited to support children with a high level of Special Educational Needs who are just beginning their education journey.

Melbourn Primary School is a warm and welcoming school on the Cambridgeshire / Hertfordshire border. We are located in the beautiful village of Melbourn, just a short car journey or only a 15-minute train ride from Cambridge city centre and with good transport links in to London.
