Experience of working with SEMH needs, an understanding of de-escalation strategies and/or an understanding of ASD/social communication difficulties would be advantageous.

We are a supportive teaching team with high standards and a child-centred approach to all that we do. Our staff are enabled to succeed in their roles through professional development, TA meetings, for example, and we have staff who often progress onto teacher training, HLTA or Early Help positions.

Hours of work – 08:15-15:15 Monday to Friday and 5 hours MSA duty.

Do you have (also see Job Description):

  • a “can do”, flexible approach, as we use our TAs flexibly
  • a desire to make a difference for our pupils
  • good organisational skills
  • good standards of written and oral English and Mathematics skills
  • positive behaviour strategies and will be on board with our behaviour policy
  • the ability to work as part of a team, on your own with 1:1 pupils and small groups
  • high expectations of yourself and others
  • a high level of professionalism
  • a commitment to the important role of assisting pupils’ learning
  • a positive attitude and sense of humour

If you can say ‘yes’ to all of the above, you could be the ideal candidate to contribute to the continuous improvement of our happy, friendly and successful school.

We can offer:

  • regular opportunities for ongoing professional development
  • an active well-being culture, social events and family-friendly policies
  • a very supportive and friendly team
  • a happy learning environment
  • a child-centred approach
  • polite, enthusiastic children
  • a chance to make a difference
  • supportive governors

We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children. Appointments are made subject to DBS check and verification of two suitable references.

We welcome visits from prospective candidates. Please contact Lisa, Anna or Charlie, in the school office, to discuss the role or arrange a visit.
