Teaching Assistant job summary

Nelson Academy are recruiting a Teaching Assistant for the ASD Specialist Resource Base (SRB) for an immediate start to join its friendly team. You will work closely with teaching and support colleagues to ensure that the children within the SRB are given access to the highest quality of teaching and learning opportunities. The role is for 31.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time plus training days. A total of 39 weeks per year.

This is a permanent position.

Salary - Grade D - £18,009 - £18,294 per annum pro rated

You will work closely with the children to support their progress, you will be committed to ensuring that all children achieve their full potential. This role requires you to be passionate, calm, and an excellent communicator.

English and Maths qualifications to Level 2 (GCSE A-C), or equivalent - essential

Teaching Assistant Qualification, or equivalent - essential

First Aid - qualification or willing to obtain

Experience of supporting pupils with Autism and related conditions to access the curriculum would be an advantage. Full training and support will be provided.
