What skills and experience we're looking for
The Turing School has an opportunity to appoint a Teaching Assistant (TA) or a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work with class teachers to support teaching and learning. Please specify which position you are applying for in your application. The successful candidate will help to provide general assistance to pupils under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher.
Key duties include:
- Working with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the supervision of teaching staff;
- Supporting pupils in their learning and with their emotional well-being;
- Supporting the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task;
- Prepare and clear up learning environments and resources.
The Successful candidate will need to have:
- English, Maths and Science G.C.S.E grade C or above, or significant relevant experience;
- Evidence of working with children in a similar environment;
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
- A willingness to learn;
- Working at or towards professional standards for HLTA (For HLTA role).
