What skills and experience we're looking for
Peterhouse School is committed to the education and personal development of children and young people with autistic spectrum conditions, and in doing so, to work in close partnership with families, commissioners and others.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be able to think creatively and flexibly, using an understanding of each pupil’s individual needs. You should be prepared to learn about a variety of approaches to engage pupils and overcome barriers to learning. You will have a positive attitude and be willing to reflect and develop. You will have knowledge of Autism, and will have obtained a Teaching Assistant NVQ Level 3 qualification or be willing to work towards this. The ability to use your own initiative and think creatively is also essential.

Peterhouse School is a non-maintained Specialist School for pupils with ASC aged 5-19 in Southport.
Peterhouse aims to provide a specialist environment which is flexible and responsive in fulfilling the academic, social, emotional and physical potential of all our young people, equipping them with the skills, knowledge and understanding to be a successful autistic adult.
