What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, resilient and committed Teaching Assistant to take on the role within our school. The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team within school. Experience of working with children with SEND would be advantageous as well as a commitment to helping to develop a love of reading, improving reading outcomes, and the delivery of phonics.

The Teaching Assistant will also be expected to promote the school positively and develop supportive working relationships.

The successful applicant will need to be inspirational and an excellent team player who is able to demonstrate good communication skills and flexibility in supporting our pupils, staff, parents and community.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant:

  • who is patient and caring and put the needs of children first.
  • who can work as part of a team with parents and other practitioners.
  • who has a high standard of work ethic in terms of motivation, organisation, personal presentation, punctuality and professional standards.
  • who is able to follow instructions but also work by using their own initiative.
  • who has a good understanding of the Curriculum, child development and SEND.
  • who is able to provide PPA cover under supervision and cover classes or groups as required.
  • who is responsible for children’s learning and development so that they can make progress.
