What skills and experience we're looking for

We need someone to provide learning and care support for an individual pupil with special educational needs (SEN) to help work towards the outcomes on their education and health care plan (EHCP). This will involve working with the teacher to plan and deliver activities and supporting the pupil with routines, transitions and behaviour management. (TA 1 + SNA)

We are looking for someone who has the following attributes/qualities:

  • Sets high expectations for all;
  • Can organise, manage and maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment and resources;
  • Shows compassion in order to support all members of our school community;
  • Can embody the school’s Christian values and ethos;
  • Has excellent inter-personal communication and is a team player;
  • Can provide regular feedback to teachers on the pupil’s progress, attainment and barriers to learning;
  • Demonstrates initiative;
  • Has the ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Can be creative during challenging situations
  • Understand neurodiversity (desirable not essential)
  • Knowledge of nurture / sensory strategies (desirable not essential)
  • Knowledge of Smart Moves intervention (desirable not essential)

Knowledge of how using visual tools can help pupils to reflect on social situations.
