We’re seeking enthusiastic, patient, and committed Teaching Assistants to join our team. You’ll work closely with class teachers and support staff to help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for pupils with a range of needs. About The Role
As a Teaching Assistant at Barnsole Primary School you’ll play a vital role in supporting the academic, emotional, and social development of pupils including those with SEND. Every day brings variety and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference. In this role, you will:
Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to help pupils access learning
Assist with personal care needs when required, always ensuring dignity and respect
Help deliver creative, inclusive lessons and interventions
Encourage independence, build confidence, and foster a love of learning
Contribute to a calm, nurturing, and positive school atmosphere
Passionate about making a difference to children with SEND
Experienced in supporting pupils with ASD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or other additional needs
Ideally qualified to at least NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent), with strong literacy and numeracy skills
Proactive, flexible, and able to work well as part of a team
Calm, empathetic, and resilient under pressure
Committed to continuous professional development
