Teaching Assistant - SEN - Temporary to July 2023 job summary
Townville Infant School is seeking to appoint an experienced and competently skilled Teaching Assistant to work across EYFS and KS1 supporting children with special educational needs. This is a temporary SEN contract. The successful applicant will need to be professional, supportive and confidential and will need to be fully committed to working with school staff includingthe SENCO, other professionals and also the family. They will support learning effectively with particular attention to the development of social communication skills and the personal, social and emotional needs of a pupil whilst working with them on a 1:1 basis. They will need to have high expectations of themselves and the progress, behaviour and safety of the pupil they will be working with. The post is term time only to work under the direction and supervision of the class teacher, Headteacher and SENCO.

The successful candidate will:
Have a good understanding of, and experience of working in, EYFS and KS1, particularly with children with SEND (Inc. ADHD and Autism)
Be an excellent practitioner, enthusing and inspiring children.
Be adaptable, calm and positive.
Recognise and value the role children play in their own learning and development.
Be able to support the class teacher effectively ensuring a positive impact on pupil progress and productivity.
Have a high expectation of attainment and behaviour.

Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Work effectively as part of a team.
Have the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with parents.
