What skills and experience we're looking for

This is an exciting time to be joining Sir Thomas Boughey Academy, as we continue to develop our SEN provision. We need an enthusiastic Learning Support Practitioner who can support our students and teaching staff in ensuring that all students can access a Quality First education. Having been judged as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in February 2022, we are eager to continue on our school improvement journey – and we look forward to having you on this journey.

The successful applicant will be able to support our students in the classroom and in smaller groups. The role will also include providing confidential pastoral support and liaising with external partner agencies, as well as working closely with parents, so good relationship, listening and communication skills are essential.

What the school offers its staff

Sir Thomas Boughey is an academy where we all strive for excellence. We have a real sense of community, and being part of the community is incredibly important to us. At Sir Thomas Boughey, you will find enthusiastic young people, and the staff will make you welcome, and will support you.

As part of United Endeavour Trust, you will be open to opportunities to develop as an individual within the school but also across the trust itself, through our Trust Training Academy. The value of being part of our team should not be underestimated. Joining Sir Thomas Boughey will mean that you will be part of a supportive and dedicated group of staff who will invest in your professional development. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your abilities and knowledge whilst working in a supportive environment in conjunction with other very dedicated and professional staff.

Further details about the role

This post would suit a flexible, energetic and forward-thinking person who is keen to support the academy as it grows on its journey to outstanding.  The Learning Support Practitioner role will include liaison with both teaching staff and students, as well as external partner agencies and parents, so good communication and relationship skills are key.
