The Governors of Sitwell Infant School are seeking to appoint a well-motivated, enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our hard working, outstanding team. The post is temporary for a fixed term to support children with an EHCP (the post will remain in place for as long as specific children remain on role at Sitwell Infant School or the funding ceases). The post is subject to a satisfactory probationary period of six months.
Sitwell Infant School is a large and successful infant school with an inclusive and child centred ethos, looking for an energetic and talented teaching assistant to join our wonderful support staff team. Ofsted judged us Outstanding in June 2014 and we have continued to be relentless in our pursuit for all children to reach their full potential.
If you have a strong commitment to raising children’s achievement through an exciting and stimulating curriculum, are self-motivated, want to be part of a learning community and have a good sense of humour, then you will enjoy being part of our friendly, happy school. We are passionate about teaching and learning and believe it is a privilege to work alongside all children and their families.
We wish to appoint an outstanding professional who:
- Has a passion to help and support children and see them thrive
- Is patient and has a caring and positive attitude towards all children
- Will empathise with children and understand their different learning styles
- Will confidently deliver a range of activities 1:1 or in small groups to support learning
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Has good timekeeping and organisational skills
- Can use their initiative to work creatively, independently and flexibly
- Has competent ICT skills, and is able to create and prepare resources
- Is motivated, keen to learn and willing to undergo further training where necessary
- Will share our commitment for inclusion and pastoral care, ensuring all children reach their full potential
What the school offers its staff
We are able to offer:
- The opportunity to make a real difference to the lives and futures of our children
- The opportunity to be part of an enthusiastic, fun loving and dedicated team of staff
- Opportunities for professional development and training both in school and externally to develop your own skills as a practitioner
- A caring, dedicated governing board and supportive parents
- Competitive rates of pay and progression
We would love to meet caring, hardworking people who want to make a difference to our children's learning and well-being.
