What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, National Curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies
  • Understanding of child development and learning
  • Able to actively improve the pupils understanding through modelling, explaining and providing feedback

  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities

  • Ability to relate well to all children and adults

  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these

  • Able to use technology effectively to support learning

  • Able to communicate effectively in writing and when speaking

  • Able to effectively manage the behaviour of pupils in line with the school policy

  • Actively promote the well being of all pupils

  • Actively support the meeting of individual needs including those with SEND

  • NVQ 1 or 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience (desirable)

  • GCSE grade9 to 4 (A* to C) in Maths and English

  • Evidence of recent and relevant training (desirable)

  • First aid training (desirable)

  • Experience of supporting learning with children of relevant age

We have a woodland with an outdoor learning hut, wildflower meadow with activity path and a large field. Our playground has a trim trail that the children love and we now have a Multi Use Games Area with an all weather surface. The classrooms have their own outdoor areas.
