What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a caring, nurturing member of staff to join our fantastic team to help support the children’s learning and development in Key Stage 2. This position would be perfect for somebody who is child-centred, has good interpersonal skills, is an effective team player and is knowledgeable about how to support learning in the primary phase. You will be supporting the learning of all children, including those with special educational needs, within mainstream classes.

We welcome applications from candidates seeking a part time or full time role and can offer up to 30 hours per week, term time only.

The successful candidate will:

  • enjoy working with children and be able to show initiative both in class and group situations
  • have an interest in special educational needs
  • have an understanding of learning and be able to contribute to assessment and planning
  • have high expectations, together with caring attitude and flexibility
  • know how to provide the children with a safe and secure environment
  • have a good level of general educational qualifications

In addition you will:

  • have lots of energy and patience
  • demonstrate good communication skills
  • have a positive, hardworking attitude
  • be able to work effectively within a committed team of TAs and Teachers
  • be committed to inclusion and equality of opportunity
  • cover lunch time duties

The full time equivalent annual salary is £23,576-24,690. The pro rata annual salary will be subject to the agreed number of working hours per week (up to 30 hours) over 38.6 weeks per annum. For 30 hours per week the pro rata salary would be £16,728-17,519).
