Teaching Assistant job summary

Stondon Lower School is seeking to recruit a passionate and caring Teaching Assistants with excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills to join a committed team of educational professionals.

The hours will be 08:30 - 15:30 Monday to Friday (with 30 minutes lunch) 32.5 hours per week. This time will include working over the children's lunch time. Term time only, plus 5 INSET days per year. This is initially a fixed term contract, linked to SEND funding.

For this post, you must be a calm, cheerful, caring and patient Teaching Assistant. The perfect candidate will be self-motivated, capable of working collaboratively and independently when required and able to maintain a professional attitude in a busy school environment. A good understanding of phonics and of the differing needs of children, including those with SEND. You will need to be flexible and be willing to undertake a variety of activities with individual pupils (including those with SEND), groups of pupils or supporting the whole class.

Start date will be January 2025.
