Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for a number of Teaching Assistants to join our professional team in providing a supportive environment for pupils both in the classroom and in our Engage SEND provision. All students, no matter what their backgrounds, needs or abilities have the right to access a full curriculum. We are looking for enthusiastic people who can work along side our Engage Teacher to ensure that all needs are being met. Increasingly there are more students with cognitive abilities that are well below their chronological age and the support given by the Engage department means that students can continue to access mainstream lessons where appropriate. The Engage Teacher, along with the Teaching Assistant can offer support and work closely with teachers to ensure that the transition is smooth and students are able to access the work. Burton Borough is a vibrant and inclusive mixed Community School of 1170 students, situated on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border within the pleasant market town of Newport. Our location provides easy access to/from Shrewsbury, Stafford, Telford and Wolverhampton. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will need to undertake a DBS enhanced clearance for the school.
