Teaching Assistant - The Cabin at Melbourn Village College job summary

Melbourn Village College, as part of the Cam Academy Trust, is seeking to appoint a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to work with students in The Cabin. We require an adaptable, enthusiastic and innovative person with good communication skills who can work within a wider team and be responsible for:

· Providing assistance with the teaching and learning of students under the instruction of the class teacher in order to maximise their participation and achievement.

· Providing support with classroom management and with the supervision of students, while maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment.

Providing 1-1 support under direction for academic and/or social and emotional interventions.
· Providing general care and welfare to students.

· Contributing to the overall ethos, work and aims of the college.

Student progress is proven to be consistently high and the college is committed to equipping students with the skills they need to be successful in their future lives. As a successful and ambitious school with just over 600 students, there is a strong community feel. Here, everybody is somebody.
