Teaching Assistant job summary
We are looking to recruit a temporary named student Teaching Assistant’s to work under the direct
supervision of the Excellence Department to support access to learning for children with mobility,
learning or social and communication difficulties. Your role will include working with a number of
children in lessons or on a 1-1 basis which may include pre-teaching or recapping skills already
learnt. You must enjoy working with children and be able to relate well to both students and adults
and want to make a difference to the lives of our young people. Ideally, you will have previous
experience of working with children with a SEN need and/or an understanding of the support they
will need to succeed in a mainstream secondary school. Please note that due to the nature of the
role, the hours of work are unfortunately not negotiable.
This is also an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to enter the teaching profession and will
enhance your chance of obtaining a place on teacher training programmes.
