Teaching Assistant job summary
As part of The King’s School’s initiative to enhance and develop our SEND provision, we are delighted to announce an opening for a Teaching Assistant. The post is offered on the basis of term time (38 weeks per year) plus 32.5 additional hours over the year to complete supplementary departmental duties and training. GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics along with excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to empathise with students whilst working closely with them both in the classroom and the student support centre to achieve the very best outcomes. The successful candidate should be highly organised but flexible to adapt to the changing needs of SEND students.
Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
