Teaching Assistant job summary
To support class teachers with their responsibility for the development and education of children in the school which may include children with special needs
To assist teachers in delivering and evaluating learning activities and adapting teaching materials to suit the particular requirements of individual pupils and groups
To assist in meeting the pupils’ need for encouragement, reassurance and comfort and attend to their personal requirements and physical care while encouraging independence at all time
To deliver 1-1 and/or group support/interventions including for those who have physical, emotional or educational needs, under the direction of class teachers or senior staff.
To assist class teachers with monitoring and recording pupil performance.
To assist class teachers to support children to understand what they have achieved and what their next steps are
