Antingham & Southrepps Primary School and Nursery is situated between these two beautiful villages, surrounded by countryside and woodlands. We are a spacious and very well-resourced school - our stunning 200 year old school building provides our children with a truly beautiful environment in which they can learn and thrive. We have recently become part of a collaboration of five primary schools including Reepham, Bawdeswell, Foulsham and Antingham & Southrepps Primary Schools, working together to improve the education and the opportunities available for all of our children. We are part of the Synergy Multi Academy Trust.
We have an opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to support the teaching and learning of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The role encompasses some 1:1 support as well as working with teachers in a classroom environment. Maternity Cover Contract
Pay Rate: Scale D Point 5, £13.26/hr, £25583 pro rata
19 hours/week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings, all day Friday)
Term time plus 1 week, and holiday pay.

Learning Support Assistant 1:1 (8.30am-3.30pm including daily lunchtimes- 3 days a week)
Part-Time (Fixed Term with the view to becoming permanent) Position for Spring & Summer Term (February 2024 to August 2024)

We are seeking to appoint someone to provide 1-1 support for a Year 6 child with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
Purpose of the Role:
To assist in the support and inclusion of pupils with special educational needs within the school and to support the learning of all pupils as directed by the class teacher/SENDCO in order to maximise children’s potential.
Responsibilities
Supporting the pupil:
• To develop a knowledge of a range of learning support needs relevant to the school
• To develop an understanding of the specific needs of pupils to be supported
• To aid the pupil/s to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and individually, inside and outside of the classroom.
For example: Clarifying and explaining instructions Ensuring the pupil is able to use necessary equipment Motivating and encouraging the pupil/s
• Assisting in areas of specific weakness, such as writing tasks
• Helping pupil/s to concentrate on and finish work set
• Attending to pupils’ personal and health needs
• Developing appropriate resources to support the pupil/s
• Assisting in the management of pupils’ social interactions and behaviour
• To establish a supportive relationship with the pupil/s concerned
• To establish acceptance and inclusion of the pupil/s in the classroom
• To manage pupil/s as advised by the school
• To use methods of promoting / reinforcing the pupils’ self esteem
• To ensure the safety of the pupil/s while in your care
• To carry out any specific duties as outlined in the pupil/s support plan or EHCP
Supporting the SENDCo and Class Teacher
• To assist the SENDCO to develop a suitable programme of support and then carry out the programme, within the classroom or in a 1:1 situation
• To maintain systems of recording and monitoring of pupils’ progress
• To provide feedback about pupils’ difficulties and/ or progress to the SENDCO and Class teacher
• To write reports about the pupil/s’ progress as requested by the SENDCO
• To participate in the evaluation of the support programme, with the SENDCO and class teacher
• To help adapt/ find differentiated materials to enable pupil/s to access the class curriculum
• To report any problems about arrangements or any incidents to the SENDCO, or if unavailable, to the class teacher
Supporting the school
• Where appropriate, to foster links between home and school
• To contribute to Annual Review meetings, as appropriate
• To participate in relevant professional development
• To be aware of / follow school policies and procedures
• To maintain confidentiality about home- school / pupil- teacher/ school work matters
• To cover break and lunch duties if required
• To complete any other task as directed by the head teacher/ SENDCO.
Health, safety and discipline
• Promote the safety and wellbeing of pupils
• Maintain good order and discipline among pupils, managing behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
• Follow the Child protection and safeguarding expectations as set by the DSL and in line with school policies ensuring children and staff are safe.
Personal and professional conduct
• Uphold public trust in the profession and maintain high standards of ethics and behaviour, within and outside school
• Have proper and professional regard for the ethos, policies and practices of the school, and maintain high standards of attendance and punctuality.
Other
• To participate in the appraisal process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager.
• To complete any other duties commensurate with the post, as directed by the Headteacher.
