Thank you for taking an interest in our current vacancies for the Teaching Assistant posts at Westgate Primary School. We are looking for several full time Teaching Assistants (25 hours per week). Some of the positions may be considered to be permanent and the others to be 12 months in the first instance. This will be for a September 24 start.

A number of the posts will include general class based Teaching Assistant responsibilities as well as supporting children with Special Educational Needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties as part of a class team approach. The year groups for the general Teaching Assistant posts have yet to be determined and will reflect the range of applications we receive.

There will also be additional welfare hours available for 5 hours per week.

We are looking for individuals who can truly support children and be part of a team that make a positive and life-long difference.

The successful applicant will:

  • Care passionately for all our children, no matter what their barriers are or challenges they bring into school.
  • Build professional relationships with children, staff, parents and outside agencies.
  • Have knowledge of child development and safeguarding.
  • Work with existing staff to support pupils and raise achievement.

We are looking for individuals with personal attributes who will be able to support our children. Previous experience in a school or alternative educational setting would be desirable, but is not essential.
