Teaching Assistant with focus of SEMH job summary
The Holgate Academy is seeking to employ a Teaching Assistant with experience of SEMH. To carry out a range of learning development, student welfare and administrative tasks to support students with special educational needs but primarily to focus on Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, assisting teaching staff in the Academy and within the communities.
The post would also suit a graduate (or equivalent) who may be interested in pursuing a career in teaching at a future date and would like to gain some experience. If you are an enthusiastic and dedicated team player with experience of working with children and would like to be part of our friendly and committed school family please apply. We would welcome applications from a teaching assistant with SEMH experience or a qualified teacher with behavioural experience looking to move roles or return to teaching.
You would work under the guidance of senior leaders and teaching staff with a focus on supporting solution based behaviour management and offering mentoring support in relation to this, with some links to our alternative learning packages. The role will also involve leading a team of staff in planning, preparing and managing resources to support KS3/ KS4 students.
