Teaching Assistant with some 1:1 responsibilities job summary

We are looking to appoint 3 people to the posts of: Teaching Assistant with some 1:1 responsibilities, to join our amazing school family at St Nicholas CE Primary Academy.

30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Salary Scale:  G3.6 – G3.9

Actual Salary: £ 16,551 - £17,470


Temporary Position until 31st August 2024 or when the child leaves the school

Temporary Position until 31st August 2028 or when the child leaves the school

Temporary Position until 31st August 2030 or when the child leaves the school


Posts are temporary to support children who have additional needs, in accordance with their Educational Health Care Plans, and will be reviewed in line with the emerging/changing/ growing needs of the children and school.

We are seeking to appoint caring, compassionate, and enthusiastic people to join our wonderful school family in a challenging, but rewarding role.

Candidates should have a good understanding of how to support primary age children with additional needs, be able to develop trusting relationships, be caring, flexible, patient, an excellent communicator and support the school’s Christian ethos. Above all you must be willing to work hard! Experience of working with a range of pupils would be desirable but not essential.

This post includes supporting children outdoors during lunchtime play.
