Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for a patient, skilled, and hardworking person to join our friendly staff team as a Teaching Assistant, working with class teachers to support children’s learning.

Working as a teaching assistant will involve providing additional support to children with special educational needs, however the post-holder will also provide support to other children within the class. You will ideally have a particular interest, or prior experience in supporting children with special needs, but just as important are the skills you will bring; patience, good humour, belief and ambition for all children, and readiness to reflect and learn. As a teaching assistant at Wood Farm School, you will be supported by our SEN co-ordinator, and will work closely with other members of your teaching team. You’ll benefit from professional training and support: all staff receive training in school-wide priorities such as supporting emotional health and wellbeing of children, and there are opportunities to develop further such as in phonics, early reading or in maths support.
