What the school offers its staff

Woodford Primary School opened in September 2022, initially providing 30 Reception places and 20 Pre-School places with a further Pre-School and Reception class added each academic year, until we become a thriving 230 pupil primary school – from Pre-School to Year Six – in September 2028. We currently have a total of 81 pupils on roll.

Located at the heart of the Woodford Garden Village, our intention is for Woodford Primary to serve its local community. It will be an inclusive, non-selective, non-denominational one form entry school where all pupils can thrive, regardless of their background or circumstance.

Pupils will be encouraged to ‘Dream Big’ so they can ‘Fly High’. They will be taught about the school’s heritage of flight and aviation in an environment where they feel safe and secure, valued and cared for. School will be an enjoyable and exciting place where all Woodford Primary pupils flourish and succeed because they are taught to believe that the sky is the limit!

We will go above and beyond to ensure that all pupils benefit from a curriculum that goes well beyond statutory requirements and equips them to make a positive contribution to their local and global community, now and in the future.

As a Trust, we understand the vital importance of an outstanding Early Years’ experience in making sure that every pupil gets off to a flying start. We treat every child as an individual and we provide just the right amount of challenge and support for them to fulfil their potential. Happy children make the best learners so the personal development of pupils is central to everything we do.

At Woodford Primary, as in each Laurus Trust school, the ethos will derive from a firm belief that all pupils are entitled to an outstanding state education, incorporating learning and enrichment opportunities that rival those offered in the best private schools. We are unwavering in our belief that all pupils should have high aspirations for their future and never be disadvantaged by their circumstances.

Commitment to safeguarding

Laurus Trust is an inclusive Equal Employment Opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We welcome and encourage applications from all individuals regardless of individual background or circumstance.

As a Disability Confident Committed Employer, we strongly encourage applications from all persons with a known disability, and we will ensure that a fair and proportionate number of disabled applicants, that meet the minimum criteria for a role, will be offered an interview and given the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and talents.

We have identified four ‘Curriculum Drivers’ – elements that are integral to our school Enrichment Curriculum.

These are;

Collaboration - to learn from each other, to support each other, to be successful together
Possibilities - to change ourselves, to challenge each other, to push boundaries
Respect - to understand ourselves, to appreciate each other, to value diversity
Technology - to learn, to communicate, to create

Professional Development

We attach huge importance to continued Professional Learning and recognise that, in the exciting and ever-changing environment in which we work, we are all learners and are constantly looking for ways to improve our practice.

Our comprehensive programme of in-house Professional Learning comprises weekly pedagogy-based sessions, Further Professional Learning sessions, opportunities to coach and mentor and to engage in research.

Being part of a Multi Academy Trust enables our staff to work across schools and phases. Not only does this broaden their experience, it opens up a wider range of teaching and leadership opportunities.

As a Trust we actively develop our teachers through nationally accredited programmes such as the NPQ's and many of our staff have completed courses at Masters level.

If you want to work in a highly ambitious and successful school, and believe you have the vision and commitment to join our team, then we would like to hear from you.
