Teaching Assistant job summary

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join our Outstanding and inspirational school as a Teaching Assistant. We have vacancies for assistants to support pupils, preferably with experience, to work in any year group (FS to Y6), either as a general teaching assistant or to closely support pupils with complex needs. Full time and part-time roles available.

Woodland View Primary School is a two-form entry school at the heart of a thriving and supportive community in Grange Park, Northampton.

  • Fixed term initially until 31-8-26

  • Full time 8.40am to 3.15pm, M-F, term-time only

  • Part-time - days/times to be negotiated, term-time only

  • Salary £24,796 pro rata

    We are looking for someone who:
    • Builds warm, positive relationships with children, helping them to feel safe, valued and ready to learn.

    • Has experience (or a strong interest) in supporting pupils with additional or complex needs, including within nurture-style provision.

    • Can work flexibly across the school (FS-Y6) and adapt to meet the needs of different pupils and classes.

    • Is patient, caring and resilient, with a calm approach to supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.

    • Enjoys being part of a collaborative and supportive team, contributing to the inclusive ethos of the school.

    • Is committed to professional growth and open to learning new strategies and approaches.

    • Is willing to support pupils during lunchtime as part of the school day, encouraging positive play and social interaction.
