To assist you in completing your application, please download our recruitment information sheet. Supporting statements should be completed using the job description provided, demonstrating how you meet the essential and desirable criteria for the post advertised.
We are looking to recruit TA1 and TA2s for our Ashcroft Road site. On rare occasions TAs may be asked to cover on their non-based site. Expenses
would be covered if this was the situation.
We have a shallow pool onsite. TAs are expected to participate in our pool-based lessons, this requires water competency and confidence rather than swimming skills.
Whilst experience with pupils with special needs is favoured, recruitment is also based on willingness to learn, and a clear identification with the school’s values. Our recruitment process involves practical engagement in our classrooms on the interview day.
CVs will only be accepted alongside a completed application form. A CV on its own will not provide adequate information and does not replace the need for candidates to explain how they meet the essential criteria in full. Please contact HR on 01582 728705 if you need assistance.
Please note that if you are shortlisted for this role, or an alternative role, an online name search will be undertaken, as per Keeping Children Safe in Education. The purpose of the search is to help identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available online, which the school or college might want to explore with you at interview. Further information on how online search will be undertaken can be fund in our schools Recruitment and Selection Policy.
Applicants for this public-facing post will need to demonstrate the ability to converse, and provide effective help or advice, fluently in spoken English.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This post meets the definition
of ‘Regulated Activity’ as defined in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act
2006.
Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for an enhanced
DBS check to be undertaken. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of
Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare all unspent
cautions and convictions; and also any adult cautions (simple or conditional),
and spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation
of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020). A person’s
criminal record will not in itself prevent a person from being appointed to
this post. Applicants will not be refused posts because of offences which are
not relevant to, and do not place them at or make them a risk in, the role for
which they are applying. However, in the event of the employment being taken
up, any failure to disclose such offence, as detailed above, will result in
dismissal or disciplinary action by the School / Authority.
Disclosures
are handled in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be accessed
via www.disclosure.gov.uk
Please note the school reserves the right to close adverts prior to the closing date if a sufficient response is received. Early applications are advised in light of this.
