While the teacher leads the lesson, you will monitor and provide additional support to a small number of specified children to ensure that they are able to fully access the learning. You will motivate and encourage them, foster independence, build their confidence, and help them to overcome barriers to learning, assessing how much intervention you need to put in place to meet the child’s specific needs.
You will also work with small withdrawal groups on structured, planned intervention schemes to support improvement in literacy and numeracy.
You will create resources, support teachers in implementing Educational Healthcare Plans and report back to teachers on progress made.
We are committed to ensuring that all of our children have the opportunity to achieve their best, to be fully involved in the life of the school and to be successful within it. All of our children are individuals and all come to us with different interests, strengths and needs. Our Inclusion Support team ensure that those children with more significant needs have their needs met. As far as possible, we strive to achieve this within mainstream lessons but sometimes pupils will work in our Inclusion Support Unit (ISU) where they receive intensive, targeted, specialist support.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
