Teaching Chaplain job summary
Are you a practising Christian with the knowledge, energy and passion to nurture our community’s spiritual development?
St Mary’s isn’t just a school; it’s a brave, forward-thinking family in which children come first. Staff here know that their work can change lives and because of this, we strive to be at the forefront of primary education. It is our unequivocal belief that an outstanding school must promote life in all its fullness: spirituality, wellbeing and academic rigour take equal precedence here. As Chaplain, you’ll not only champion our Christian character, but provide compelling pastoral support for our community through their sorrows, struggles, joys and celebrations. In short, we need you to be the embodiment of God’s love.
To sustain you in this crucial role, we will:
• provide a comprehensive induction programme
• arrange CPD relevant to the role, including opportunities to enhance your spiritual well-being
• facilitate networking with other Chaplains across the Trust and Diocese
• afford you a balanced timetable, including classroom contact time, to enable you to develop our faith, pastoral and religious education provision
Our research-based approach to learning, progressive curriculum and innovative learning environments make us unique - just take a look at our website! Likewise, we’re looking for a Chaplain who also stands out from the crowd: someone with the altruism and authenticity to inspire discipleship. This role demands your whole heart and an unwavering commitment to our community. In return, you’ll find reward in our warm-hearted spirit, collegiate approach and, most importantly, in seeing our children achieve a sense of self-fulfilment.
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and would expect anyone joining our school to share the same ethos. All candidates are subject to safer recruitment procedures. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
