We are seeking to appointment new members to our experienced support staff team. This is a class based role where you will work as part of a team with tasks delegated by the teacher in order to:

o Support children with their learning in lessons.

o Teach children how to read and develop a love of books

o Encourage children to take risks, make mistakes and develop a love or learning

o Co-regulate emotions and feelings with the aim for children to develop new strategies to self-regulate.

o Support children to self-reflect on their behaviours using our shillings system.

o Identify patterns of behaviours, triggers and rescues.

The candidate will have the ability to look beyond the challenging behaviours displayed by children, will be emotionally resilient, caring compassionate, fun, aspirational (for both themselves and the children) and passionate about education.

What the school offers its staff

Beormund Primary is a specialist special needs setting for children with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). We are a school filled with bright, articulate, funny children whose needs could not be met in a mainstream setting. Many have experienced a number of suspensions and exclusions from school which can contribute to low selfesteem, self-confidence and a sense of rejection. All of our children have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) highlighting their range of medical, social, emotional and/or academic needs so learning has to be personalised in order for our children to make progress.

What we offer as a school:

o Bright, engaging and determined children who will never fail to make you smile.

o A fantastic and supportive staff team who collectively strive to make a difference.

o Continuous Professional Development which will develop your own personal skills and build your confidence. Support staff attend all INSET.

o Regular Reflective Practice sessions – we also encourage a healthy work/life balance.

o 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme – 365 days a year helpline and additional support with legal, financial advice and counselling o Great transport links (train, tube and bus) and free parking – although please note that we are situated within the congestion zone.
