What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Partner to support children with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the children in the areas of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) and Communication and Interaction needs, while embodying our values and helping the child to let their light shine.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSE in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Relevant qualifications or certification in special education or a related field is desirable


  • Experience working with children with special needs, specifically in the areas of SEMH and communication and interaction needs, in a classroom or similar setting
  • Experience working with children who have an EHCP is desirable

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate and caring attitude
  • Patience and the ability to work with a child
  • A team player who is willing to support and collaborate with other staff members while embodying our values of respect, kindness, and resilience

● Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Must be able to pass a background check and have a clean criminal record

What the school offers its staff

  • Hours of work: 8:35am - 3.15pm, 3 days per week.
  • Salary: Grade 4-5 dependent on experience
  • The opportunity may be available for the hours to increase as the provision is reviewed and there might be other opportunities for additional hours within the school.

  • Provide 1:1 support to children with an EHCP in the areas of SEMH and communication and interaction needs
  • Assist children in achieving their goals as outlined in their EHCP
  • Work closely with the SENCo and other staff members to provide a cohesive and supportive environment that aligns with our vision and values
  • Act as a safe and reliable person for children to rely on each morning, helping them have a successful start to their day at school
  • Support the children in their academic and social development, while embodying our values of respect, kindness, and resilience
