TEACHING SENDCO (0.6FTE) job summary

Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic KS1 Teacher/SENDCO to join our friendly and hard working team based at GilmortonChandler Church of England Primary School.

Our Church of England Academy caters for children from 4 to 11 years of age and serves the parishes of Gilmorton, Kimcote Cum Walton, Ashby Magna, Bruntingthorpe, Peatling Parva, Upper Bruntingthorpe and Willoughby Waterleys. We established Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust (IPAT) in June 2017.

We are a caring school, with a team of dedicated professionals committed to providing a happy, safe, well disciplined environment where all children can grow in God’s love and make the most of every learning opportunity offered to them. The emphasis is on excellence, excitement and challenge.

We pride ourselves on inclusivity and service to our community. Children are encouraged to become independent, creative learners who also respect and care for others. We believe our school is a place where every child feels special and we hope that every child leaves us feeling they have something unique and special to offer the world in which they grow up.

Our vision is to strive for excellence in everything we do, working under God’s guidance and endeavouring to enable all to flourish, bear fruit and live well together. This can also be seen in our strapline taken from Colossians 1:10 ‘…bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God’.

This is an important post for the school as we strive to ensure that our school is an inclusive environment, where all our children can flourish and realise their full potential. The post is 0.6 FTE and involves teaching two days per week in KS1 and one day a week leading the school's SEND provision. We are looking for someone who has at least two years experience in the classroom and already holds the NASENCO qualification or will commit to undertake the new leadership NPQ for SENDCOs in Autumn 2024. The post is offered as M3-UPS3 for the right candidate plus SEND allowance if NASENCO or NPQ for SENDCOs qualified.

If you are interested in this post and would like to visit the school, please contact the school office on Tel: 01455 552343 / email: gilmortonchandler@ipat.uk to arrange a mutually convenient time.
