department has enjoyed a stable and consistent staffing position.
Accommodation
The Design Technology Suite is housed in a modern building named as “Notre Dame”. It is located on the ground floor of a building shared with Music, Drama and Art on the upper floor. It has four specialist rooms including;
- Design Technology Rooms
- Textiles Room
- Food Room
- ICT Room
The Art department has its own specialist room on the upper floor where girls are taught a single period, 50 minutes per week.
Curriculum
All girls take Design and Technology in KS3. The girls spend 9 weeks in each subject area and have a double period amounting to 1hour and 40 minutes. This is taught in a carousel where the following subject areas are covered.
- 3D Design
- Computing
- Fashion & Textiles
At KS4 we offer the girls GCSE courses in the following;
- Design and Technology
- Food Preparation and Nutrition
- Art and Design
- Computer Science
Students are taught for 2hours and 30 minutes per week.
