We have a vacancy for a versatile, skilful and dedicate technician to provide high-quality support to Food Technology department. The main focus of this post is to provide support for the subject areas across all Key Stages with you being based at our Lower School site.
The successful candidate will have:

Food Technology plays a prominent part in the life of the School and consistently achieves excellent results. The teaching accommodation is excellent – at both sites we have dedicated food rooms. There is effective and high quality technical and administrative support and the Faculties are well resourced.
Applicants must have a good working knowledge of the whole suite of Microsoft Office software and be comfortable using Word and Excel extensively. We use SIMS as our main management information software and whilst familiarity with this piece of software is not essential the successful candidate must be able to learn quickly as they will use this central source of management information on a daily basis.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS certificate. As the post will involve regulated activity with children, it is a criminal offence to apply for this post if you are included on the children’s barred list held by the DBS.
Amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are “protected”. These are not subject to the disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account. Guidance and criteria on the filtering of these cautions and convictions can be found on the ministry of justice website or see here.
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide details of all unspent convictions and those that would not be filtered, prior to the date of the interview.
