Technology Teacher (Resistant Materials/Construction) with Head of Year 7 job summary
We are seeking a qualified teacher to join our successful and forward thinking Design Technology department to teach Resistant Materials and Construction up KS4, with the potential for KS5 for the right candidate. You will be a creative thinker with a modern approach to design and the use of technology, while ensuring that key traditional skills are learned and retained by students. You will join a well-equipped and leading department in a heavily over-subscribed academy.
In addition, you will be Head of Learning to our new Year 7 students (from September 2021). You will work closely with the Inclusion team and line manage an Assistant Head of Learning, as well as a tutor team to ensure all students get the best possible pastoral care throughout their time at Highcrest, sharing responsibility for the learning and personal development of all students. You will move through the years with your year group to ensure they maximise their potential.
The role includes leading and monitoring a tutor time programme, organising and monitoring Life Lesson, as well as taking a strategic lead to ensure the students display the highest level of attendance, punctuality and behaviour throughout school.
