Temporary Class Teacher (Maternity Cover) job summary
Ashgate Croft is a large and complex area special school. We provide education and care for pupils with learning difficulties, including autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties and associated communication, behavioural and physical needs.
The post is for a full time Temporary Qualified Class Teacher, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the teaching and well-being of a group of nine (KS3) pupils following a semi-formal curriculum, with Learning difficulties, communication needs and may display some behaviour that challenges. (Please see attached Curriculum Policy for more details about the Equals Curriculum that we follow)
You should –
- Have successful teaching experience in either a mainstream or special school setting;
- Have excellent interpersonal skills;
- Have sound knowledge and experience of working with pupils with SEN;
- Have a positive approach to challenge and change

This position is linked to maternity cover and the commencement date will be confirmed later.
