Baden-Powell & St. Peter's Junior School is seeking to appoint an outstanding and passionate Key Stage 2 Music practitioner to join our dedicated, friendly and highly motivated team.
Baden-Powell and St. Peter’s Junior School has a fantastic team of instrumental staff, which the Music Subject Leader works with very closely. Currently over 300 children receive instrumental lessons. In addition, half the school take part in extended curricular music provision, at lunchtimes and after school. Our annual and bi-annual music and Arts calendar is a busy one! Giving all of our children the opportunity to shine in terms of regular performance opportunities, competitions etc. is important to us.
The Music curriculum is planned and delivered on the principles of the First Access programme. The successful candidate should be prepared to be adaptable and learn new skills. Playing a harmonic instrument, such as guitar or piano/keyboards would be useful, as would some basic knowledge of music technology. Every support, however, will be provided by the music subject leader in terms of professional development for the right candidate. Working with an amazing and dedicated group of staff across the school, and a super group of very hardworking children in an extremely well- resourced music department will be the successful candidate’s reward.
Both NQTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply for the position.
