The Discovery Academy is a highly successful, over-subscribed secondary academy with high expectations and standards for student outcomes and behaviour. We have an ethos of pride and respect and a growing reputation for ‘expecting excellence’.
We are seeking to appoint, as soon as possible, an enthusiastic and proactive person to provide classroom cover for short-term absence and to provide general support and assistance to departments. The role entails supervising work which has been set by teachers thus enabling students’ learning to continue. There are very clear expectations for students and clear processes to ensure the successful applicant is well supported at all times by the designated Line Manager. Appropriate training will be available.
The successful candidate will be educated to a high standard including at least GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English language. The role may be suitable for someone considering a career as a teacher or someone seeking to develop in the role of Learning Manager.
