At Horsell C of E Junior School we believe that we are all ‘made in the image of God’. Through a commitment to Christian values and high academic aspirations, we strive to provide a rich and inclusive education for every member of our school family.
Horsell C of E Junior School is a three-form entry Junior school in the heart of Horsell village, Woking. Rated ‘good’ in its last Ofsted inspection (Jan 2020), the school is now undergoing a period of exciting change.
Our school believes that we are all ‘made in the image of God.’ All of our children are cherished and we want them all to thrive – socially, emotionally and academically. We also want our staff to flourish. We have a strong record of accomplishment in supporting and developing our teachers and we are committed to the long-term professional development of all our staff.
You will be an adaptable and motivated teacher, committed to fulfilling the potential in every child. You will have initiative, enthusiasm and a willingness to try new things. You will understand that to be a teacher is to be a lifelong leaner, and be prepared to work alongside others in the classroom.
The children of Horsell C of E Junior School are polite, well-behaved, motivated, inquisitive and eager to learn. We have a large site with a swimming pool, an ICT suite, a children’s kitchen, a garden, a new library, a forest school area, well-equipped classrooms, an engaged parent body and a very active PTA. We have a good number of small breakout rooms, a forest school teacher, a sports coach, and a team of experienced and enthusiastic TAs. Our school values of love, service, justice, dignity, hope and forgiveness are central to everything that we do and we work hard to foster a sense of family and belonging as part of our Christian ethos.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher looking for a part-time temporary teaching role to cover one of our Year 4 classes until the end of the summer term 2022. There are currently 25 children in the class and they are all eager to learn!
There may be the opportunity for this position to be made permanent in September 2022.
If you would like an informal conversation about this opportunity, or if you would like an application pack, please contact k.wiseman@horsell-junior.surrey.sch.uk. Visits to the school are welcomed. CVs will not be accepted.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An Enhanced DBS check will be sought from the successful candidate.
