Located in a modern building in Kings Lynn, Churchill Park is an all through, mixed special school, catering for children with complex needs. We currently have 220 pupils on roll with small classes averaging 10 pupils, supported by a skilled and dedicated team of support staff, matched to the needs of each cohort. Our Sixth Form is off site within the Fairstead Community Center and currently has 13 pupils.
Rated Good by Ofsted (June 2022), we are continuing to develop and strengthen our Sixth Form provision, which focuses on:
- Life skills and independence
- Preparation for adulthood
- Community access and work-related learning
- Functional communication and regulation
- Real-world learning experiences, trips and work experience
We are seeking a confident, flexible and resilient practitioner to join our Sixth Form team and support pupils with complex SEND profiles, including those who are sensory learners and those who may present behaviours that challenge.
Successful candidates will have the ability to:
- Form strong, positive relationships with older pupils and young people
- Understand complex individual needs and offer creative, practical and functional learning opportunities
- Support pupils with high levels of need, including regulation, communication and sensory processing
- Confidently lead groups and learning activities, including in community and off-site settings
- Ensure pupils receive the highest quality support to develop independence and life skills
