We are looking for an outstanding Design and Technology teacher to join our enthusiastic and committed department. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and inspirational professional who is ready to develop their career in a friendly and supportive school. We would welcome applications from either a newly qualified teacher or an experienced practitioner.
The successful applicant will be an outstanding practitioner, with excellent interpersonal skills and will be able to teach across the age and ability range up to GCSE/Level 2. A holistic approach to teaching Design & Technology is required, with the ability to teach Design Technology, Food, and Computing in Key Stage 3, so that our students gain a varied skill set that will enable them to access the courses in Year 9.
Design and Technology and Computing is a successful, well-established area of the school running courses in: Design and Technology, Construction, iMedia and Hospitality and Catering at GCSE/Level 2 as well as A Level Product Design and Digital Film Production. The subject uptake is strong in all areas; we have a great team of teachers and technicians producing quality work with our students in the department. We are all passionate about our subjects helping to influence the next generation of designers, engineers and chefs. We have a mixture of multipurpose rooms, which are well stocked with both traditional and modern tools/equipment so the students are given a broad range of experiences.
With significant change within the Design & Technology and Computing faculty this year, we are embracing and preparing for the effective delivery of a range of courses and we would welcome your contributions to this very exciting time in our subject area. He or she will get the chance to get involved with revising schemes of work, ensuring the curriculum is engaging, and developing enrichment opportunities for all learners.
You will be a person who thrives on challenge, enjoys working with young people and is passionate about seeing them achieve.
The person we are looking for should be:
• a creative and highly effective teacher, with an enthusiasm for enabling young people to achieve
• self-motivating, and with excellent time-management skills;
• a team player who wants to work and engage with colleagues at all levels within the school.
