What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and committed teacher to join our thriving English department. Teaching English to all abilities across KS3 and KS4, you will have the chance to make a real difference to the lives of our students.
The English department has an innovative spiralled curriculum that enables responsive teaching and assessment, where both students’ progress and staff wellbeing are at the heart of our focus on whole class feedback. We are fortunate to have a suite of English classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards and state of the art visualisers used for live marking and modelling. At the end of the English corridor is a modern library which houses fortnightly KS3 lessons lead by the librarian. The English team consists of 14 members of staff ranging from Deputy Head to ECT. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring continued increase of outcomes for all students, including building on our above national GCSE English Language results at grades 7-9.
The post is suitable for an ECT: you will have an experienced mentor and be fully supported through our highly effective ECT programme.
