Trainee General Learning Support Assistant (LSA) job summary

St Edward’s CE Primary School has an exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee General Learning Support Assistant to join our highly collaborative and supportive team in Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will be able to establish strong working relationships with staff and pupils alike, be able to work as part of a team and will be a reliable and excellent communicator.

We are looking for a candidate to work under the direct supervision of a teacher in Year 5 to provide support for teaching and learning and other associated activities. This may include providing general support for whole class learning activities, or supporting individuals or small groups of pupils, including children who have SEND.

This is an ideal role for someone who has experience of working with children in a school setting but no formal qualifications for the role. The role is suitable for someone who is applying to study or is studying towards a NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching and Learning.

This is a full time role offering 30 hours per week, term time only, although we would consider part time applicants for 20 hours or 10 hours a week.
