Job Summary
As we continue to grow our already Outstanding school, we are looking for a motivated, ambitious and highly skilled individual who wishes to enter teaching. We are offering the rare opportunity of a paid position at our school, where you will ‘learn to teach on the job’ in a supportive and stimulating environment.
The position is for a classroom-based Initial Teacher in Training (ITT). The post comprise a teaching timetable alongside a comprehensive training package provided by our SCITT Partners. You'll have the opportunity to gain PGCE (Post-Graduate Certificate of Education) as well Qualified Teacher Status, whilst working hands-on in the classroom as an Unqualified Teacher.
You will be training through the ‘School Direct’ system, meaning you will be employed by the school with training taking place two days a week (and then one day a week later in the year) at our Partner SCITT hub. You will also complete four full weeks of training across the year and a 30 day placement at another school. Trainees will work alongside highly qualified and inspiring teachers to provide a range of teaching and learning support. Once qualified, we also offer an ECT Programme offering valuable mentoring opportunities.
During the training year, you will work alongside an in school mentor who will:
- - Meet with you weekly (as a minimum)
- - Provide valuable weekly feedback on the quality of Teaching and Learning in your classroom
- - Work alongside you to develop you pedagogy and your love for teaching
- - Be you biggest advocate for success.
The successful candidate will teach KS3 and KS4 and work closely with the Head of Arts to ensure that the quality of provision remains consistently excellent.
