Transition Manager (pastoral manager) job summary
We are looking for a Transition Manager to provide support to students transitioning from year 6 to year 7 and 8, helping them overcome barriers to learning both within and outside the Academy. The role is for 37 hours per week and 41 weeks per year (term time plus five inset days and two additional weeks in the holidays to include summer school).
The Transition Manager will work closely with the SLT link, being a key contact between the students, staff, families and other agencies, ensuring good attendance, progress and well-being of students. The successful candidate will have a high standard of communication and organisational skills, along with the ability to manage their workload effectively and meet deadlines. They will be able to work as part of a team but also independently and will have the ability to develop a good rapport with both staff and students.

Our ideal candidate will be a well-organised, reliable, trustworthy and enthusiastic individual who has a proven track record of working effectively with children/young people. They must demonstrate that they have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures. The role will be varied and busy and ideally suited to a focused and conscientious individual, with a calm, caring and patient approach who has the relevant skills and ability to communicate with students, and to motivate and support them.
