The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join our outstanding teaching team. You will hold one of the following specialisms, with the ability and subject knowledge to teach it across key stages 2 and 3: Maths, English, Science, Computing, French, Geography and History. You could be either Primary or Secondary. You understand that the transition from Primary to Secondary School can often be challenging and/or daunting for young minds. You will be responsible for teaching Year 7 transition classes, delivering creative lessons that develop and engage our students with a love for literacy and numeracy, providing a well-rounded introduction to the secondary curriculum in a supportive, structured and ambitious environment. You will be a part of a forward-thinking, collaborative and supportive teaching team that values innovation in teaching and a commitment to student success. You will be a member of which ever Faculty your specialism(s) suit, all of which are supportive and driven. Our colleagues work hard as a team but also have a great sense of humour and achieve a healthy work-life balance. We are looking for a team player who will help us to develop and shape the next phase of our journey to excellence. This is a new innovation which will enable you to help shape this new curriculum offer for some of our younger students. If all of this excites we cannot wait to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in a variety of subjects to students in Year 7, adhering to the national curriculum.
- Inspire students to engage deeply with literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking.
- Introduce students to a Secondary based curriculum in a nurturing and supportive environment.
- Enable students to close gaps and be ready for a secondary curriculum.
- Assess and monitor students’ progress, providing feedback to help them achieve their personal and academic goals.
- Foster a classroom environment based on mutual respect, inclusivity, and a love of learning.
- Participate in faculty and whole-school initiatives to promote literacy, numeracy and student development.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Strong subject knowledge of either Maths, English, Science, Computing, French, Geography and History, with the willingness to teach a number of the other subjects to Year 7 students.
- A passion for teaching and learning, with a commitment to student progress and achievement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An understanding and appreciation of the school’s Christian ethos and values.
