What skills and experience we're looking for

East Leake Academy are seeking to recruit a Transition / Primary Teacherto be the main teacher of a small number of students transitioning into secondary school; teaching the core curriculum, including delivery of inclusive and focused interventions this person will help to successfully bridge the gap between the KS2 and KS3 curriculum.

The main areas of responsibility will include:

  • Teaching a small group of targeted students in a range of subjects
  • Supporting with transition from a KS2 to a KS3 curriculum
  • Ensuring that the curriculum intent and implementation is appropriately broad, balanced, differentiated and relevant to the needs of the students
  • Ensuring that the needs of the students are known, shared and met
  • Monitoring and supporting the overall progress and development of students
  • Facilitating and encouraging a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • Ensuring that students have the necessary skills to access their learning, in particular with regards developing appropriate literacy skills
